Position Description :
The Sales Manager Taiwan position will manage Taiwan sales activities in support of the overall Precitech / Sterling global sales and marketing efforts.
The position will have direct sales coverage responsibility in Taiwan supported by a Taiwan Service Engineer. Activities are to include but not be limited to repeat sales of ultra-precision machining to existing customers as well as for prospecting, qualifying and selling to new accounts in targeted market segments.
The Service Engineer reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing-Asia
As the market expands this position may manage additional sales or service personnel to serve the Asian Market
Position Requirements :
Specific Duties :
Achieve annual sales and profit goals for Taiwan associated with existing accounts as well as prospecting new accounts for the Precitech and Sterling product lines
Work with the Taylor Hobson and Zygo organizations to maximize the return for the UPT group. This includes sharing leads, market intelligence;
bundled pricing, joint presentations etc.
Develop a deep understanding of customers’ needs in order to sell value-based solutions.
Upon receiving an order in Taiwan, manage the commercial side of order fulfillment including, facilitation of kick-off meetings, communication of delivery and order acknowledgment, project manager (unless assigned to someone else) of unique engineered products, oversee buy-off protocol.
Act as an effective, credible internal advocate for customers in allocating resources to develop solutions for customers that are timely, meet customer needs and meet target profit levels.
Continually look for new products to sell that complement the capabilities of the company.
Work collaboratively with inside sales support, engineering, operations, marketing and other functional areas as necessary to develop and sell successful solutions to customer needs.
Develop, prioritize and implement account penetration and marketing strategies for specific key accounts and prospects.
Continuously gather and report competitive intelligence to management and key functional areas including senior management, marketing sales, engineering and operations.
Maintain accurate customer contact information
Extract as much value from the market while managing terms, conditions and payments.
Prepare thorough and accurate product specifications and quotations.
Provide thorough and accurate forecasts.
Provide detailed trip reports and relevant customer call reports.
Conduct your job with a world class demeanor relating to housekeeping, perception, and business actions.
Position shall report to the Director of Asian Sales and Marketing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
1. B.S. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or physics is required and 5-7 years related selling experience.
2. Strong mechanical aptitude.
3. Training in the sales process is preferred
4. Knowledge in precision engineering principles and / or optics and metrology is highly recommended
5. Knowledge of ophthalmic optics preferred
6. The ability to perform under critical deadlines and time pressures.
7. The ability to work in a global team environment.
8. The ability to travel to other Asian countries as well as the US
