Job Description :

As part of the Hybid IT supply chain, the Manager of the Early Engagement Engineering (EEE) team leads a team of talented team of Taipei based engineers and program managers to secure the timely launch of Volume server products.

The team focused on early engagement from pre-concept phases through early development to the launch of the product in HPE’s global supply chain


  • Manage a team of 10+ direct reports including technical program managers, electrical, mechanical and manufacturing engineers
  • Using DFX and lean design, the EEE team is responsible for working early in the design phase to assure products manufacturable and error proofed.
  • The EEE team works with R&D and product management to assure designs are simplified as much as possible

  • Works with site enablement, regional teams, and manufacturing partners to assure the manufacturing sites are ready for the pilot & launch of Volume Server products.
  • The EEE team directly produces key deliverables such as assembly methods, touch time calculations, and debug guides.

  • Develop processes to for managing New, Unique & Different (NUD) features on new products. Work with core team managers to track NUDs, clarify actions across the engineering / supply chain teams, and improve launch predictability
  • The EEE team is responsible for assuring product meets ramp requirements including volume, cycle time, and yield goals.
  • Team drives timely resolution of issues and continues to refine processes. Secures hand-off to sustaining teams after initial ramp period of 90 days

  • Oversee and / or lead cross functional teams to develop new supply chain capabilities and processes.
  • Develops a culture of continuous process improvement through metric driven performance and disciplined engineering processes.
  • Builds strong working relationships with his / her peers in product management, R&D, and across the supply chain.
  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
  • Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development;
  • ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development

  • Some international travel will be required (generally less than 4 -6 weeks / year
  • Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or related of field study. Master's degree is a plus
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain and / or R&D new production introduction including site readiness / manufacturing supporting multiple manufacturing sites
  • 5+ years of direct people management
  • Knowledge / Skills

  • Experience working with multi-functional product development and new product introduction teams. Strong working knowledge of phased development NPI / Product Development Process.
  • Strong working knowledge of Design for manufacturing and lean design principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience presenting at director & VP levels. Demonstrates mastery of both English and Mandarin.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
  • Willing to be accountable for activities of others without direct authority
  • Ability to manage projects of significant scope and complexity involving teams from multiple functions including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • PMI certification and Lean Six Sigma training is helpful
