Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ( LCDs ) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Purpose of the Position :
Responsible for the sale of Precision Glass Solutions products in Taiwan. Creates and develops contact with existing and potential customers, across all our product groups.
Responsible for negotiating and closing customer deals within boundary conditions prescribed by the business. Analyzes existing and anticipated customer requirements and promotes consideration of PGS products to fill such requirements.
Works closely with other PGS functions (PLM, AE, Commercial Technology) to deliver differentiated solutions to customers.
Has substantive knowledge of glass technology.
Semiconductor or Consumer Electronics experience a big plus.
Develops effective approaches to complex commercial problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining how to meet MBOS with supervisory input.
Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical and commercial matters often requiring coordination between departments and organizations.
Experience and Education
Technical undergraduate a must. Glass, Electronics a plus
Master’s degree in technical or business fields a plus
5-7 years of sales and / or application engineering experience required
Semiconductor or Consumer Electronics experience big plus
Must be a team player, willing and able to work across functions
Must be able to convert complex customer problems into a Corning product concept
Must be able to demonstrate Corning’s differentiation, and close deals
Fluency in English and Chinese (traditional) a must
Travel requirement Up to 40% mainly within Taiwan
