About the opportunity

Department Description

The Wholesale business is a key focus of FIL SITE’s as well as Fidelity International’s business plans. The Taiwan Wholesale team comprises 22 sales and sales support professionals and is responsible for partnering with intermediary clients in Taiwan to provide them with investment solutions that meet their needs as well as providing first class servicing.

Our clients include local and international banks, insurance companies, securities firms and online platforms. The team is also responsible for developing and executing a sound and effective sales strategy that will help Fidelity International meet its ambitious business growth targets as well as increase the brand recognition and market share of FIL SITE in Taiwan.

Purpose of the Role

The candidate will be primarily responsible for leading a team of people and working closely with internal stakeholders and clients to grow Fidelity International’s wholesale business in Taiwan.

1. Sales

  • Achieve and exceed assigned business goals and targets.
  • Develop and execute a strategic and effective business plan that will meet and exceed sales targets, deepen relationships with key clients and increase Fidelity’s profile and market share vs competitors.
  • Adopt a solutions-oriented approach to partnering clients. Demonstrate strong ability to devise solutions for clients that meet their needs, capture market / industry trends and leverage on Fidelity’s capabilities and competitive edge.
  • Demonstrate strong technical (market and product) knowledge and sales skills (pitching, negotiation and deal closing skills).
  • Demonstrate strong soft skills including communication, attitude, work ethics, relationship management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ensure first class client servicing of clients.
  • 2. Sales management and coaching

  • Lead, coach, inspire and motivate the assigned sales team.
  • Inculcate a teamwork-oriented yet performance driven culture.
  • 3. Relationship building and management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders / decision makers of top tier clients and be able to commercialize these relationships and move Fidelity to become a top of mind asset manager with these clients.
  • Build credible and comprehensive internal networks within the Fidelity organisation (locally and overseas), maintain these relationships and work effectively with these internal stakeholders to drive the commercialization of business opportunities.
  • 4. Governance and risk management

  • Build a risk-aware culture amongst the team.
  • Demonstrate strong control environment and compliance with local and global regulations together with internal oversight rules and regulations.
  • Experience and Qualifications Required

  • University degree in Business, Economics or Finance.
  • CFA qualified or part qualified strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience within the asset management or finance industry.
  • Deep understanding of the asset management and wholesale distribution industry and strong knowledge of investments and financial markets.
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Excellent sales and relationship management skills evidenced by a commendable sales track record.
  • Proven people management skills - experience in leading a team of 20-30 sales people that have a track record of beating sales targets.
  • Senior level presence, with the capability to build credibility and gain trust and respect. Strong strategic thinking, analytical, communications and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thoughtfully challenge decisions or recommendations as appropriate. Ability to interface with all levels / disciplines.

    Effective and proactive communicator with proven ability to actively participate in and influence discussions.

  • Able to build comprehensive internal networks within the organisation and work effectively with internal stakeholders to drive the commercialization of business opportunities.
  • Positive, proactive and entrepreneurial, welcoming with enthusiasm new initiatives and opportunities that can be commercialised.
  • Be able to operate effectively and efficiently under stress and deliver assigned tasks within a stated timeline.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills the candidate should possess strong ability to anticipate requirements, obstacles, have plans ready to address them and be excellent in problem solving.
  • Focus on personal excellence and attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • High standard of ethics, honesty and integrity.
  • Senior Securities license holder.
