The Software FAE is an integral member of the business development team and responsible for execution on tasks related to the promotion, sale and successful implementation of BlueRiver products to Customers.
Reporting to the VP Bus Development, he / she will serve as a specialist technical contact for BlueRiver Customers with focus on the API implementation that drives their Audio Visual signal distribution solutions.
He / she will be expected to communicate clearly and effectively, working closely with colleagues in support, in sales and marketing, and our product management team, most of which are located at company’s Montreal HQ.
The role also requires close collaboration with the Senior FAE, based in Taiwan, who will prioritize efforts by identifying lead Customer projects and programs to accelerate the ones that are most likely to bring biggest benefit to the business based on successful SW implementations.
Among other duties, he / she must engage Customers looking to adopt or expand their use of BlueRiver technology and bring them to the next level : showing them how to create great software product designs, improving the level of end client satisfaction.
Success will depend on ramping up fast, on a self-directed effort to understand every layer of the BlueRiver solution, including Customer hardware as well as BlueRiver ASICs, firmware, and most importantly the software API.
Over time you will become a key contributor to a team who will grow in number to support a substantial share of Semtech’s total BlueRiver product business.
Become BlueRiver’s software product specialist for Asia-Pacific
Build strong direct relationships with Customer product management and Software development teams
Qualify technical suitability of Customer product concepts.
Coordinate or provide on-site technical support to Customers (with backup from BlueRiver Customer Support team).
Become a valued resource for Customers and field sales force to :
Provide product demonstration at Customer site
Advice on Networking and AV Signal distribution SW product architectures
Provide feature implementation recommendations
Deliver technical training related to the API and its implementation
Collect Customer feedback and product requirements to guide marketing and internal technical teams :
Develop solutions which meet Customer performance and feature requirements.
Identify and communicate Customer-oriented materials (e.g., product guides, datasheets, system compatibility guides, etc.).
Contribute to the definition and creation of BlueRiver Technical Training materials.
Qualifications : General
Post-Secondary Degree or combination of desired experience and education.
3+ years’ experience in a customer facing technical role supporting a product is a must.
Experience working with Strategic and Enterprise customers is an asset.
Technical Must Have
Demonstrable GUI development experience for the control / management software of "Professional A / V equipment" or "Datacom / Telecom equipment".
Experience working with XML and JSON files.
Experience in using RESTful web service to access resources in JSON format.
Available to work flexible hours, including on-call during evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
Ability to think critically, troubleshoot proactively and solve complex problems.
Customer orientation with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent PC usage skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Language : Fluent English, Fluent Mandarin both oral and written.
