Job Description and Requirements
Primary Responsibilities :
Plans, analyzes, and implements (sometimes with third party providers) software antipiracy actions and IP Usage and Royalty Compliance Audits that drive revenue recovery initiatives throughout Asia, with a focus in Greater China.
Performs and / or reviews detailed account analyses that drive the selection process of candidates for software anti-piracy actions and IP Usage and Royalty Audits.
Participates in and facilitates cross-functional project teams, consisting of both internal and outsourced resources, to accomplish the program goals.
Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for resolving cases, and participates in closing meetings with targeted companies, for both software anti-
piracy actions and IP Usage and Royalty Audits.
Analyzes software piracy and discussion forum websites to identify sources of pirated software as well as forum discussions related to the piracy of Synopsys software.
Since many of these sites and their discussions are in Chinese, this requires fluency in Mandarin. Provides summaries of the piracy activity as well as the forum discussions to management and Legal for action.
Develops and produces metrics to measure performance against plan goals and identify indicators for improvement opportunities.
Communicates progress to upper management.
Participates in the creation of presentation materials, including program overviews, data analyses, audit candidate selection, audit / recovery processes, revenue recovery methods, and sales / customer messaging.
General Requirements :
This role requires the following skills : analytical thinking, ability to work independently, flexibility, data extraction, data synthesis, and graphical presentation of complex information.
Requires a sincere willingness to learn, clear written and verbal communications in both Mandarin and English, business expertise and reporting skills.
This role will require some interaction with Sales Management, Legal and outside auditors.
Some travel to remote customer and internal Synopsys sites (especially Synopsys Corporate Headquarters in California) will be required.
Leveling Requirements :
Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of general business experience or an advanced business-related degree. Supports the activities of multiple stakeholders primarily through dotted-
line relationships to personnel that support the software anti-piracy and IP Usage and Royalty Audit functions. Participates in developingand executing company policies for license compliance that affect immediate operations and may also have company-
wide effects. Advises management on specialized business issues as required, especially as they relate to Asia. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
Key relationships with important partners (both internal and external) must be developed and maintained. Requires the ability to adapt the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationships.
