  • Provide country input to formulation of the Regional CIB strategy and drive the Country execution.
  • Manage the GB organisation in the country and ensure first line ownership of risk within GB
  • Drive sustainable business performance, efficiency and the regulatory agenda for GB
  • Champion Brand, Culture & Conduct in the Country.
  • Country FI Head :

  • Accountable for overall FI client group revenues, profitability and risk acceptance (AML / CDD, credit risk) within Country.
  • Provide country input to Regional FI business strategy (as appropriate)

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining an end-to-end understanding of client group structure and client banking needs.
  • Strategy Country GB Head

  • Co-ordinate implementation of overall CIB strategy in the country and co-ordinate execution of the business plan, specifically :
  • Co-ordinate alignment of resources managed within the country to the country, regional & global business plan
  • Co-ordinate business activities to collectively meet performance targets
  • Actively participate at Regional CCIBMT and Country Management Team, ALCO and NFRC to help determine the Banking / Country strategy which aims to maximise shareholder value, identifies and creates areas of competitive advantage and aligns to the overall strategic direction of the wider business
  • Communicate country performance to Regional CIBMT and CMT
  • Through assignment to direct reports and working with matrix reports, ensure Global Banking strategy is implemented and managed in country.
  • Country FI Head

  • Develop and manage the implementation of FI client strategy across segments within the country, in line with defined FI client value proposition and the overall strategic direction of SCB group
  • As part of the FI portfolio, develop and maintain a Fintech strategy focusing on companies offering New Payment Methods with focus on deposit acquisition and cross-border FX needs to increase non-financing revenue and support liability strategy.
  • Country GB Head

  • Responsible for client service within the Country
  • Responsible for complaints handling in accordance with Group standards.
  • Responsible for the coordination of distribution of marketing materials and communication to GB clients.
  • Responsible for the execution, implementation, maintenance and risk management of the corporate lending product within GB to Group standards and the governance of the local country addendum
  • Country FI Head

  • Responsible for delivery of agreed business performance (Revenue, RoRWA & RWA) and costs for FI segment, including origination and cross-sell opportunities
  • Responsible for managing FI client relationships and treating clients fairly within the Country.
  • Responsible for the sales of products by FI segment and the classification of FI clients in accordance with either Regulatory or Group appropriateness standards.
  • Responsible for developing FI client pipeline, developing senior relationships with FI client decision-makers, understanding FI client buying behaviour / decision centres, establishing credentials as a thought leader’ within FI segment, aligning SCB capabilities to meet client needs, as well as managing FI business to stay within agreed risk appetite / parameters.
  • Responsible for driving Account Planning discipline for FI client segment and engaging in strategic conversations with clients on existing / future banking needs
  • Processes

  • Responsible for management of GB and any FI-specific processes allocated within the Group’s process universe in the country.
  • Accountable to risk control owners and / or Group policy owners for management of risk arising in these processes including implementation of policies and procedures

  • Responsible for managing the integrity of FI client data within the Country, as it relates to GB processes
  • Drive continuous improvement of the operational efficiency and effectiveness of FI-related processes to increase the consistency of global systems and processes
  • Ensure a rigorous Account Planning process is in place for relevant FI clients; ensure a robust client calling plan, senior engagement plan and pipeline tracking process in place
  • Ensure execution FI client AML / CDD / CTF and credit risk processes through disciplined following of bank’s AML / CDD / CTF and credit risk policies and procedures for FI clients
  • People and Talent Country GB Head

  • Responsible for supervision of GB staff in the country to Group conduct standards.
  • Ensure that mandatory training / eLearning’s has been completed for all GB staff.
  • Encourage an open and transparent environment by supporting the Speak Up policy.
  • Develop an engagement strategy for the all GB Country employees in response to the MyVoice feedback
  • Lead on a talent forum approach to identifying, managing and developing internal talent
  • Country FI Head

  • Responsible for managing and recruiting staff for FI segment, ensuring adequate staffing to meet the business objectives, strong talent identification, performance management, fit & proper assessments, succession planning, training and development activities.
  • Ensure that all FI staff have clear and balanced performance scorecards and objectives.
  • Provide effective leadership to the business (with direct reports, regional FIMT, GBMT and CCIBMT members), communicate the vision and build commitment and energy to focus on key priorities
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Build and maintain an effective management team capable of delivering the FI strategy
  • Risk Management Country GB Head

  • Member of the NFRC to ensure that GB risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with Country CEO and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible for identification and management of Conflicts of Interest within GB.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Ensure risks relating to GB are subject to direct remedial action and / or escalated where appropriate to relevant risk committees
  • Ensure any audit and compliance issues relating to the business are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for business continuity management of GB and directly of FI in the country.
  • Country FI Head

  • Ensure that the Country FI business is carried out within the Group’s risk appetite and risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with fellow Regional CCIBMT and Regional FIMT (as appropriate) members, Country CEO, direct reports and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible for first line management of financial crime, specifically for customer due diligence of FI clients within the country.
  • Governance

  • Accountable for all escalation from Country to Regional GBMT or Regional FIMT (as appropriate), Group governance committees or risk control owners.
  • Accountable for the governance of the GB processes allocated within the Group’s process universe in the country
  • Regulatory & Business conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
  • This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Lead GB in the Country to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles : Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets;

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Responsible for building a culture of good conduct in GB and ensure that the principles of the Group Code of Conduct are embedded in the day to day activities of staff, in accordance with HR policies / procedures.
  • Ensure that Certified Persons and Material Risk Takers within GB are in compliance with Fit and Proper guidelines.
  • Ensure a balanced criterion for success and reward decisions, based on clear objectives which drive the right behaviours.
  • Maintain Individual Accountability throughout the business by having standard and mandatory objectives aligned to certain role populations included in employee performance reviews, of which they are measured and rewarded.

  • Encourage a no blame culture within GB, and a lessons learnt approach to highlighting areas for improvement. Recognise openly the good conduct demonstrated throughout GB.
  • Produce business-wide communications to articulate Tone from the Top.
