Dell’s Advanced Solution Team (AST), part of the Chief Technology Office in Dell Client Solution, is seeking a skilled Product Development Manager with strong capabilities in complex product development and program level tracking.

AST is responsible for delivering technology demonstrations, proof of concepts, and technology enablement of end-to-end products advancing Dell’s leadership position.

This specialized team brings together experts in multiple development disciplines to introduce innovative solutions and advance technology development for our customers.

This individual will manage and drive forward complex and highly technical front-end development activity across a variety of initiatives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact to lead technology / product development engineering team(s).
  • Drives creation, coordination, and ensure execution of key engineering project activity.
  • Serves as the central resource for all aspects of the engineering solution, which can include disciples related to (but not limited to) : electrical, mechanical, software (O / S, F / W), test, validation, peripherals.
  • Guides ODM activity for the product, coordinates the build and allocation of prototype systems, drives the initial triage, debug, and resolution of engineering defects.
  • Strong co-work and collaboration between engineering, marketing, procurement, and experience design in all phases of the project.
  • Create and present engineering team(s) communication and coordination of program initiatives and status across a variety of levels team members, managers, executives.
  • Develops the engineering schedule and budget in coordination with core and extended team.
  • Manages major risks and issues through effective contingency planning and proper escalation.
  • Drives direct and cross functional engineering team(s).
  • Strong global communication and ability develop a strong credibility with engineering and non-technical teams.
  • Proactive mindset of continuous improvement and issue identification. Help identify, resolve, and escalate issues in an appropriate, and timely manner.
  • Key Qualifications

  • Proven track record of end-to-end system level technology / product development from conception to mass production (incl.
  • phases of architecture definition, design, production, support, de-bug, etc.).

  • Cross-functional knowledge of consumer electronics engineering development areas relation to user experience and industrial design.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects at a given time; ability to prioritize projects and tasks seamlessly across various stakeholders.
  • Engineering discipline and rigor.
  • Individual Characteristics : Excellent communication required verbal and written. Ability to present content and share relevant information to key stakeholders.
  • Team player with strong collaboration across cross-functional teams, internal and external to the organization.Ability to influence others to achieve results.

    Demonstrate creativity and adapt quickly with agility to high dynamic environments and new technical areas.Enthusiastic, motivated and self-

    driven. Comfortable working with ambiguity. Ability to work independently and manage deliverables.


  • 10+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or similar function). Master’s degree (preferred).
