As a BPM supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Business and strategic planning, market competitive study and communication
  • Manage COO budget and cost to support operations & technology production and change programs
  • Provide governance oversight on operational and information & cyber security change to ensure operational readiness and resilience, adherence to group and local policies / procedures / standards, and compliance with local regulations
  • Explore the opportunities of synergy and collaboration across Taiwan, and further to Greater China & North Asia in operational innovations and best practice sharing
  • Strategy

  • Assist country COO to lead the development of business strategy and develop consolidated country operations strategy ensuring effective co-ordination between business, functions and regional.
  • Assist country COO to develop and implement effective country plan that supports operational resilience, supervise governance, and the delivery of consolidated country operations strategy, including people, technology, information security, business resilience, and infrastructure etc.
  • Business

  • Working closely with country COO for driving business / operations collective agenda and performance & cost targets, in line with performance management framework.
  • Assist country COO for bringing alignment across the business and functions by working with client segment, product and function heads to maximize and protect franchise.
  • Assist country COO to ensure alignment of budgets and targets with balance sheet considerations, supporting infrastructure and strategy
  • Assist country COO for overseeing business performance, cost management, and governance.
  • Facilitate collaboration among clients segments, product and functions
  • Assist country COO for drive and participate relevant MT initiatives, and manage communication and feedback between GCNA and country
  • Processes

    Assist country COO to ensure all processes across the country are followed in line with approved policies and procedures, and local regulations.

    People and Talent

  • Assist country COO to ensure an integrated approach to people and talent management across TW COO families as appropriate
  • Assist country COO for driving employee engagement throughout the country
  • Working with country COO to ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and effective supervision are in place to mitigate people risks
  • Risk Management

  • Assist country COO to ensure all material risks, including all risk types which affect country franchise are properly monitored, managed and where necessary escalated to appropriate individuals and relevant committees
  • Working with country COO to anticipate risks and issues likely to have material impact on the operations within the country and seek to manage or mitigate such risks and issues
  • Working with key stakeholders to protect and enhance reputation and image in the country
  • Governance

  • Assist country COO to provide oversight over country operations, ensuring compliance with highest standards of regulatory conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements
  • Take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirement of the role. Understand and comply with, all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing and sanctions.
  • Assist country COO to ensure applicable regulatory limits are managed effectively to support execution of country strategy and business plans
  • Assist country COO to implement and maintain robust structure to support effective corporate governance
  • Working with country COO to ensure appropriate conduct of business and clients are treated fairly through effective policies and controls, robust staff training and appropriate operational activities and transparent communication.
  • Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.

  • To manage Country COO Office budget and spending utilization and ensure it is monitored and managed properly and assist country COO for monthly balance substantiation.
  • Assist country COO for managing major projects / key initiatives in the country to ensure timely delivery
  • Our Ideal Candidate

  • Academic or Professional Education / Qualifications bachelor degree
  • Licenses and Certifications / accreditations as required by role remit and responsibility
  • Professional Memberships as required by role remit and responsibility
  • Bank training; i.e. mandatory & developmental
  • Languages fluency in business English, Chinese
