As a Senior PIE(process integration engineering) engineer in Taiwan, you will be coordinating new product NPI and start-up activities at both Subcontract and micron internal Assembly sites in Taiwan.
You will be responsible for new product NPI and start-up datelines, product applications and customer requirements; interfacing with package design teams, establishing BOM and process definition, product verification and validation, product qualification to production volume release, and communication.
You will be establishing milestones and actions to achieve on-time NPI completion and motivating cross-functional teams to work closely to achieve the goal.
Also you will be working with new product start-up teams to establish a robust process to ensure smooth production ramp and providing leadership in problem solving.
You will be acting as the point-of-contact to Fab, design, marketing and customers on all issues related to assembly.
The responsibilities of the BECE PIE include and not limited to the following :
Product lifecycle management and execution from development (New Product Introduction) to product end-of-life.
Defining the Build of Material (BOM) for all packaging and module level products.
Ensure Engineering samples and qualification samples are on time and achieve successful product qualification release.
Ensure products meet yield / quality / reliability expectations.
Maintain a matrix of key performance indices and drive improvement through team-based continuous improvement activities / projects.
Leverage knowledge of experts across functions to successfully launch new technologies in packaging.
Support customer audits.
Use structured problem solving techniques and lead team problem solving efforts.
Identify projects, coordinate and evaluate controlled experiments. Know how to validate experimental data and make data driven decisions.
Communicate product and project information to departments outside of Assembly.
Act as the point of contact for product / project related issues.
Work closely with Global PE counterpart to ensure consistency across the network.
Act as a point of contact for Quality and Reliability Assurance (QRA) on NPI returned merchandise (RMA).
Support process improvements (die and package).
Work across global internal and external manufacturing sites to drive product quality through BKM sharing and alignment programs
Establishing the team culture and mentoring new product engineers as the Taiwan team grows.
Use the Quality Assurance Work Request (QAWR) program to document experiments
Communicate product and project information to departments outside of Assembly
Enlist the support of management
Send weekly product / project team updates to team members and management team
Will need to travel within Taiwan frequently, and may need to travel internationally on occasion.
Minimum must have Bachelors Degree in Engineering from a recognized university or related field equivalent technical work experience.
Eight years or longer working experience in semiconductor package assembly area
Good understanding of wire bonding, high die stacking, POP package assembly processes preferred as well as good knowledge on package level warpage control.
Material science(metal, polymer) knowledge will be an added advantage.
