Unlike roles with similar names at the other companies, Test Engineers at Google aren't manual testers you write scripts to automate testing and create tools so developers can test their own code.

As a Test Engineer, you navigate Google's massive codebase, identify weak spots and constantly design better and creative ways to break software and identify potential problems.

You'll have a huge impact on the quality of Google's growing suite of products and services.

Through your leadership and professional expertise, you manage a team or teams, plan project goals and lead the overall strategy for your group.

The Pixel Test team plays key role in ensuring the quality and user experience of Google Pixel and relevant devices. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in multiple global locations, with the scope including design and develop test infrastructures / tools, in-house integration testing and carrier reports.

Responsibilities

Contribute or lead engineering efforts from planning, execution and delivery to solve complex engineering problems in tools and testing.

Develop scalable and reliable automated tests for software and feature quality at both system and user level.

Design, create, modify and execute test strategies / plans and drive to improve software testing processes and methodologies.

Optimze and maintain team oriented tools or tests to increase productivity.

Opportunity to lead a team with decent size.

Minimum qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Experience programming in one of the following : Python, Java and / or C++.

Experience in technical leadership or people management.

Preferred qualifications :

Experience in building test automation solution, automated internal frameworks, monitor system, or improving testing effectiveness.

Experience with tools in Android Test Support Library used for UI test automation.

Knowledge of system components, interfaces, and protocols on mobile devices such as touch, display, camera, audio, cellular, wi-fi, bluetooth, network protocols, power and battery, system performance, multimedia, sensors, NFC, USB, Type-C,SPI, I2C, I2S, UART, etc.

Knowledge of Google Apps, and their development, or third-party application testing.

Ability to lead testing activities and engagement with cross-functional teams to shape design and project direction.
