THE ROLE :
AMD is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Director of Customer Engineering to lead the Server platform engineering team to work with our partners and internal development teams for AMD’s cutting-edge data center products.
This individual will interface with key server customers and partners in APAC from architecture, concept study, platform development, system validation, production, and post-deployment support.
This includes enabling partners with critical knowledge of AMD technologies and platforms, review customer platform design to drive the best design practices, and successfully scale AMD business.
THE PERSON :
The successful candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of x86 architecture and relative domain knowledges. The candidate must be highly motivated, innovative, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
He or she must be able to quickly analyze different scenarios to come up with the best approach to tackle tough problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead the team to work with cross-functional teams to engage, co-development, and validate customer platforms based on AMD solutions.
Work with global function teams to enable development of AMD server platforms by augmenting customer solutions with technical collateral, such as application note documentation, user guide on customization and tuning, sample and reference design materials, and debugging / profiling tools.
Analytic ability to address technical issues and generate creative solutions
Engage directly on key technical topics and issues with partners and internal teams, and steer of multi-party discussion to convergence
Develop customer-specific solutions with full product cycle technical support, feasibility verification, and project management throughout the entire development process
Align with cross function teams with emphasis on driving technical enablement / communications, technical support, and debug / issue resolution
Coordinate on-time delivery of all engineering project deliverables into customer development projects
Drive for highest levels of customer satisfaction
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE :
Experience in the computing industry, at the OEM, CSP, or technology provider level
Experience team managing and delivering programs
Product development experiences with strong knowledge in the following fields : Server architecture, x86 processors, DDR, PCIE, SI, EV, and system management
Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly.
Ability to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations.
Excellent analytical, project planning, and management skills.
Proven ability to deliver large cross-functional strategic initiatives.
Quickly adapt to dynamic business and technical requirements
Energized by working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS :
BS or MS in Electronic Engineering (or relative engineering fields)
