Mechanical engineer to work with the Engineering Department of Li-GBU in China. The ideal candidate will be a high energy, collaborative individual who aspires to find creative ways to solve problems, answer questions, and improve processes.
This position is a key team member of project engineering team for execution (concept to start-up) to build a production facility for Lithium Hydroxide.
The position will report to discipline lead or as organization chart request. The position will be at Jiangxi plant and provide support to Sichuan site if need.
The candidate shall have strong mechanical design, construction, and trouble shot experience on project site.
Job Responsibilities :
Work with cross functional team especially Jiangxi / Sichuan plant team to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support the business objectives.
Drive and lead effective execution of the engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities throughout the project, leveraging many diverse and local or global vendors.
Maintain quality and timeliness of all project activities and deliverables throughout the process.
Work with local design institute to ensure the technical correctness of all engineering designs and installations.
Coordinate resource requirements and project execution with other ongoing plant activities / work to ensure all stakeholder expectations be aligned.
Ensure all technical documents be reviewed and approved at the appropriate levels and input is incorporated.
Participate in the supply chain functions including but not limited to the execution of requests for proposals, the creation of and approval of purchasing requisitions, bid tabulations, and single source justifications.
Identify and manage scope changes especially focus on the technical solution.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, project documentation requirements, engineering standards and specifications.
Maintain timely and accurate reporting including weekly and monthly reports which support the project controls function.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Ability to align project objectives and clear engineering target
Ability to supervise multi-disciplined teams.
Sensitive to project change management.
Kiln / ball mill experience pyromet process.Experience in front end pyrometallurgical process.
Good safety concept in engineering design
A leader in safety on assigned projects including setting expectations and being visible in the field.
Cooperate with plant HSSE team to ensure construction / commissioning move forward in space limitation in existed plant.
Capability to develop general layout of new facilities. Pipe routing and other premier proposal. Understanding of engineering progress and construction productivity measurement.
Ideal to have experience in full phase of design experience. Has knowledge for pressure vessel, kiln, pumps, compressor, HE-X and etc.
Familiar with engineering and construction documents.
Knowledge with front-end definition scoring tools such as PDRI, FELx, or equivalent.
Working knowledge of engineering design tools 3-D Model Review, PDMS etc.
Basic knowledge of engineering document control.
Basic understanding of constructability reviews and other value improving practices.
Basic knowledge of construction labor planning.
Knowledge of construction safety requirements and measurement.
Planning and Cost control
Knowledge of project controls and cost forecasting.
Ability to prepare and analysis critical path schedules.
Basic estimating skills and knowledge of engineering and construction cost structure.
Capability to lead, manage and coordinate engineering team
Basic knowledge of materials management, procurement, receiving, warehousing, GR, etc.
Experience with SAP Project Module and other basic SAP transactions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent people skills - Customer focused.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Excel, Word.
Familiarity with commercially available plant design products such as Autodesk’s AutoCAD, Intergraph PDS, PDMS, etc.
