POSITION PURPOSE

  • Provides timely and accurate responses to internal and external medical inquiries about Pfizer products, and thereby acts as an essential medical contributor to the successful commercialization of products, activities and services of Pfizer.
  • Ensures promotional material complies with local regulations and both ethically and scientifically sound so that our customers can make well-informed decisions and optimize the safe and effective use of our company’s products.
  • He / She is also required to manage Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) and provide medical and scientific training, updates and communication to improve the internal and external capabilities when such a need arises.

  • MSL also conducts CFM (Customer Facing Medical) activities under the guidance of PBG IM Medical Lead and APAC CFME (Customer Facing Medical Effectiveness) Director.
  • MARKETING SUPPORT

    1. Act as a core member of the Medical-Marketing team to provide medical inputs / advices to different medical functional groups and Marketing Department that support the products.

    2. Assist in defining product strategy as required.

    3. Ensure the Company maintains a high ethical and professional standard when dealing with the healthcare professionals and supporting other health care disciplines, and with consumers.

    4. Facilitate the interaction / partnership between Key Opinion Leader (KOLs), Academia, Clinicians, Researchers and Pfizer

    5. Assist in therapeutic area and product training to sales and marketing colleagues when required.

    6. Review customer engagement program to ensure its’ design complies with company SOPs, guidelines and local industry codes and regulations on ethics and patient confidentiality

    7. Provide educational talks to HCPs or consumers if required.

    8. Act as a field-based medical to support medical-medical communications and KOL management.

    MEDICAL INFORMATION

  • Collaborate with Medical Information team to provide a timely and accurate response to internal and external medical inquiries for Pfizer products.
  • Ensure all inquiries are responded within the set timeframes and are handled according to local regulatory requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of Pfizer.
  • Maintain a good understanding of knowledge in medical practice and product knowledge through continuing participation in meetings related to the area of specialty.
  • Coordinate the receipt and dissemination required for reporting adverse event and product complaints to drug safety and product complaint designee where appropriate.
  • PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS REVIEW AND APPROVAL

  • Review promotional materials for accuracy and adherence to the relevant Pfizer policies, local industry codes and regulatory guidelines as required.
  • Provide scientific and medical advice / support to Marketing colleagues.
  • CUSTOMER-FACING MEDICAL

  • Carry out customer-facing medical activities in response to meeting the medical needs expressed by customers for TA & Brand information.
  • Engage customers around Service Based Activities (i.e. IIRs, Scientific AdBoards, etc) and Value of our Medicines
  • Listen to customers to gain their knowledge and bring information back into the organization
  • Should not engage in any form of activity or inducement designed to promote the prescription, supply, sale, administration, recommendation or consumption of a medicinal product.
  • Should be mindful of the content and context of their interactions with field commercial colleagues particularly in the presence of HCPs and follow local country legal guidance
  • Use information and materials that is specifically approved for colleagues engaged in customer-facing medical activities in response to meeting the medical needs expressed by customers for TA & Brand information.
  • Develop and implement CFM local tools to identify / develop / engage KOLs including medical KOL list development and enter meaningful scientific KOL interactions into the global MEDIC system to capture / share KOLs’ insight
  • TRAINING

  • Provide disease(s), product(s) or basic pharmacology training to commercial and other relevant colleagues, as required, following liaison with the Training Department
  • Assist commercial and other relevant departments to deliver training to external stakeholders upon request
  • Participate in both internal and external training / meetings recommended by supervisor to improve efficiency, competency and / or for future career development.
  • INVESTIGATOR INITIATED RESEARCH (IIR) / REGIONAL OR LOCAL SPONSORED TRIALS

  • Discuss research concept with interested researcher, and communicate the nature and requirement of Pfizer’s IIR.
  • Facilitate submission of investigator initiated pre-clinical and clinical proposals, and act as a liaison between Pfizer and IIR researcher.
  • Facilitate research proposal screening and study placement, and follow up activities.
  • Support Pfizer Regional or local sponsored trial (including post-marketing trial), which is not under the clinical research team, if applicable.
  • ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS / STRUCTURE

  • Solid line reporting to PBG IM Medical Lead
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Medical Degree or Degree in Medical Sciences e.g. Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Pharmacology or related field
  • Good medical and scientific knowledge for the defined therapeutic area(s)
  • Good understanding of the International and local pharmaceutical business and marketing practices
  • Good understanding of the local medical and regulatory environment
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Proficiency in English and good computer usage
