This position plays a key role in managing and supporting Tonal’s material requirements working with our manufacturing partners and suppliers to fulfill production and shipment plans.

The responsibilities mainly cover from ensuring material availability, improving material flow through the supply chain, reducing liability and exposures, to supporting operations related to material and product shipments in Taiwan and the greater China regions.

  • Work with ODM in managing material readiness to support production requirement. Ensure timely update on MRP, shortage, and resolution
  • Work with material and production planning teams at the ODM and key suppliers on weekly build and ship schedule updates, CTB, and delivery status reports
  • Responsible to review and drive improvement in ODM and key suppliers’ material control and flow processes. Strive to achieve best practices and standards in their material management and communication
  • Build knowledge of parts and accessories used and shipped by Tonal, map and maintain process flowcharts to support troubleshoot and improvement requirements
  • Establish with Tonal team, ODM, and suppliers on key performance metrics in the material and production functions. Set key measures including material lead time, MOQ, upsize and buffer stock, second sourcing, and others to improve supply continuity and flexibility
  • Ensure effective implementation of metrics and conduct performance review periodically to track progress, adjust requirement standards, and identify areas for improvement
  • Involve in QBR to evaluate ODM and key suppliers’ performance in the material and suppliers management-related categories, and involve in supplier selection as needed to review material support capacity, risk, and capability
  • Assist in investigating quality or supply related issues when materials are affected. If required, guide or assist suppliers in conducting inventory cycle count and report submission
  • Review and track material liability status at suppliers and ODM, ensure on-time reporting and accuracy of liability reports.
  • Verify liability items and resolve issues as required

  • Monitor material impacts resulted from changes in product specifications and ECO (Engineering Change Order), or changes in sourcing and costing.
  • Work with suppliers and Tonal team to efficiently manage new material orders and inventory control before and during the change implementations

  • Ensure prompt updates and effective management of obsolete material by suppliers. Track and report ongoing financial exposures weekly or monthly
  • Conduct audit and physical inspection of material at supplier locations. Ensure closure of material exposures quarterly and disposal of scraps with proper certification from suppliers
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business management, Industrial Engineering, or other manufacturing engineering / technology-related fields
  • At least 10 years' experience working in the manufacturing industry (tech, electrical, or mechanical manufacturing preferred) with responsibilities in the material and supply chain management
  • Experienced in material planning, material control, supply planning, suppliers management, and purchasing. Familiar with industry standards and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, an intensive user of Excel, and experience in ERP, MRP, or any material database management system
  • Good communication and analytical skills. Willing to work with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to resolve problems
  • Proven organization skill and attention to details, result-oriented and work independently
  • Able to travel within Taiwan, and sometimes (less than 20% annually) to supplier locations mostly located on the east coast of China
