implements the strategy road map, the rules and principles of the Finance Function for all Sanofi activities in the MCO (Multi Country Organisation) Taiwan & Hong Kong, in accordance with local legislation, Corporate procedures & Group requirements and with the objective to protect the business and Group assets.
ensures proper flow of financial information and clear processes and governance across activities.
is responsible for legal entities financial statements signature in the MCO (unless this is not possible due to local legal constraints).
As such he / she leads and coordinates all financial operations.
participates to the definition of the Finance strategy and team sizing, together with Finance and business stakeholders of the Group.
supports the MCO country Chairs in her / his role of coordination for all related financial aspects.
ensures that shared costs at country level are properly challenged, optimised and fairly charged to the respective business / GBUs, with adequate transparency.
reports any major internal control problem or compliance issue to the relevant teams.
is the Finance Business Partner of the GEM GBU, being responsible for monitoring and driving the performance of his / her GBU through the optimisation of resources, assets and liabilities while minimising risk exposure.
Main duties and responsibilities
As Chief Financial Officer, she / he will have to :
1. Country Council member :
participate in the implementation of the Group s strategy at local level
facilitate the cross-BU initiatives
support management in decision making processes by providing finance expertise
contribute to transversal projects involving Finance
ensure the consistency of macro-economic hypothesis in the planning / budgeting / forecasting processes
participate in the definition of the strategy and sizing of the enabling functions together with Corporate / Region and ensure the implementation of the defined strategy
2. Finance Country Council Chairman :
organise regularly a finance meeting with the key Finance stakeholders of the MCO :
o Finance Operations
o Procurement, Supply Chain, IS, other Function leaders can be invited on an ad hoc basis as appropriate
set up the agenda and actively contribute in the :
o macro-economic, general business & financial environment updates (incl. acquisition, integration, divestment, tax & accounting intelligence, etc )
o performance updates from the GBUs & Global Platform / Functions
o review of main business projects and investments
o review of finance projects update and status, forecasting process update
o review of cash-flow and its components
o risk management, compliance and internal control updates
o workforce planning, talent management and recruitment status of the local finance organization
o transversal preparation of quarterly closings, accounts committees, external / internal / tax audits
3. Finance Operations :
set up the strategies, rules and financial principles of the Group in the country and ensure their application
ensure the reliability of the statutory and managerial accounts and their reporting in due time
be accountable for credit management, cash management and all Treasury activities within the MCO
manage Travel & Expenses processes in compliance with the Group policies
handle tax subjects (local taxes, transfer prices, group projects)
be the interface towards all sanofi activities for the Finance Shared Services
as a board member, represent Finance for all legal entities of the MCO
manage the audit assignments and relationships to the auditors (internal / external / Tax)
supervise financial tools maintenance or implementation (TM1, SAP, HFM .)
As Finance Business Partner of the GEM BU, she / he will have to monitoring and driving performance :
be the process owner for strategic planning, budget and forecast
be responsible for the financial management of the GBU P&L
co-pilot and challenge the business investments and resources allocation through the appropriate use of KPIs, prioritization measures and operational analysis
streamline reporting process, enhance tools improvements
contribute to strategic / business development files financial evaluation within the GBU
make the necessary links with Regional / Global stakeholders or the represented perimeter and contribute to Finance and Organization international projects as required
Together with the BU Head, be responsible for the Demand to Cash related processes : Commercial Policies & Contracting; Tender management;
Revenue recognition; Gross To Net (including SISO); DSO.
Additionally, for both roles she / he will have to :
select and lead the transactional and expert finance teams, by setting up expectations and evaluating their performance for the purpose of creating a group of highly qualified and motivated team members
be accountable for the development and talent management of the MCO Finance team
define and develop capabilities in order to support the matrix organization
establish and lead the MCO Finance Council in order to facilitate the co-operation between GBU Finance BPs, IA Finance, R&D Finance, Finance Operations and CoEs
Internal Control :
ensure proper implementation of Group internal control processes as well as corporate ethics, rules and policies and local statutory requirements (accounting, fiscal and legal obligations)
establish and maintain a reliable control environment adequately supporting country operations
propose necessary points of improvements to relevant Internal Control, Processes and Systems teams
ensure compliance of all internal control processes within her / his GBU
ensure and validate proper assumptions for M&A / Business Development & Licensing / Legal restructuring projects
ensure interaction with / between Affiliate Finance Team and Corporate / Regional Finance functions for all Group projects implementation
ensure and validate proper financial assumptions for projects specific to her / his GBU
