Asa Corporate Process Safety Engineer in operations the duties willinclude but are not limited to the responsibility for helping toimplement Micron’s chemical process safety management(PSM) system across the global network of manufacturingfacilities.
Thesuccessful candidate will be able to identify and characterizehazards associated with processes, equipment, and technologies andwork with corporate and sites engineering personnel including teamsfrom site Facilities engineering, process and equipment engineering(PEE), Fab Support, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Research& Development, Materials Management, Operations, BusinessLeadership teams, and Legal to plan and lead in the development andimplementation of process safety improvements worldwide.

We are looking forsomeone to start around September, 2017. Successful Externalcandidate would be located at any Micron Front EndofLine site.
Systematicallyreview chemical and tool safety for new or changed processes,chemicals, or equipment.
Identify andcharacterize process hazards in the development of new and legacyprocesses, parts, and technologies.
Conduct orparticipate in thorough process hazard analyses (i.e. HazOp orother hazard analyses) to determine hazard potential impact to theglobal network.
Work with global network in thedevelopment of engineering solutions and strategies for controllingphysical and health hazards at all points of a new or legacyprocess, chemistry, or system (i.
e. manufacturing process toabatement).
Work with site Facilitiesengineering, process and equipment engineering, EHS, and Researchand Development to define and implement process safetysolutions and strategies for controlling process hazards associatedwith chemistries, tools, and facilitiessystems.
Work in conjunction with theTechnology Transfer Teams and the Micron Global PSM community todeliver first-hand information, specifications, and trainingrelated to process hazard characterization of new processestransferring from Process R&D to High Volume Manufacturing(HVM).
Evaluate process safety impact onrecipe, hardware, and new toolinstallations.
Review of process chemistry,including reactivity, byproduct formation, and other materialcharacteristics (i.e. flammability, corrosiveness,etc).
Make technical determinations andrecommendations to minimize process hazards for equipment,abatement, and other operationalequipment.
Identify and implement operationalreliability and Process Safetyopportunities
Recommend process and productsafety features that will reduce employees' exposure tochemical, physical, and biological workhazards.
Monitor and track performanceindicators (KPI) that clearly define success for process safetymanagement. Leverage a blend of leading and laggingindicators.
Drive closure to gaps in processsafety metrics / KPI performance.
Leverageinternal and external (industry)benchmarking.
Implement process safety riskassessment as a standard way of business within Micron network;work to instill a culture of safety.
Work withthe R&D team and the Supplier Community to ensure technicalsafety requirements are met for both incoming and legacytools / processes in the most cost effectivemanner.
Provide tactical determinations andrecommendations for efforts to minimize costs, process hazards forabatement systems, wastewater treatment, waste collection systems,and other operationalequipment.
Genuinepassion and commitment to employee health and safety, coupled witha high level of integrity to do what isright.
Demonstrated success in managing complexprojects and working with a cross functionalteam.
A thorough understanding ofMicron’s internal semiconductor process flow andmanufacturing.
Must haveexcellent analytical and problem solvingskills.
Must be aneffective communicator and group facilitator, and have the abilityto work with a diverse group of scientists and engineers to leaddevelopment of viable solutions.
Must haveknowledge or experience with chemical, tool material safety, andsafe engineering solutions.
Must haveexperience in Risk Based Process Safety (RBPS) Management includingProcess Hazard Analysis (PHA) such as HazOp.
Anunderstanding of chemistry with regard to safety hazards,environmental impacts, and mitigation strategies associated withsemiconductor manufacturing.
Familiarity withenvironmental and safety regulations and standards as they pertainto semiconductormanufacturing.
BSdegree in Chemical Engineering or Higher, or equivalent industryexperience
Mustbe willing to travel one weekper / month
