The Finance (Sr.) Manager has overall P&L management responsibilities with a focus on cost management activities. Disney has existing DTC service in various Asia markets;
Taiwan and Hong Kong are soon to follow.
The key FP&A function will be to ensure there is consistency in all P&L related submissions (including but not limited to local management, Regional Finance, US (BBK / NYC) Finance as required).
Submissions will include annual budgeting, regular forecasting, quarter close activities, and reporting on financial, subscriber, revenue and other KPI’s.
The role also includes financial management of marketing activity, variable direct costs and overheads with consolidation responsibility of Taiwan and Hong Kong DTC P&Ls.
Finally, the role also works with local controllership ensuring the appropriate financial controls and accounting policies are applied within the business unit.
The role reports to Head of Finance Hong Kong & Taiwan, but is accountable to local DTC GM in the capacity of a finance partner.
This role will have no direct report.
Responsibilities : Core Finance
Core Finance
Prepare and publish financial / management reports including KPIs (Churn, New Trail / Paid Subs etc.) to assess health of business.
The continued development of the Strategic Plan, Budget and Forecast processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Preparation of cyclical / rolling forecasts, AOP and 5YP for review with Finance Director.
Ensure alignment of local financial plans and trackers with APAC / US stakeholders, including content teams in Burbank and DSS functional teams in New York.
Delivery to Finance Director of ongoing operational results based on key drivers and comparison to budget / forecast.
Work with local controllership to ensure appropriate financial controls and accounting policies of TWDC are applied / adhered to.
Work with Tax team with respect to e-invoice roll out
Work with accounting team (ASC in Shanghai) to ensure accuracy of financial information including provisions for statutory and management accounts
Business Development support / partnering
Working closely with marketing departments to create and track performance marketing and brand / content budgets to support the continued subscriber growth of the services.
Working closely with local production finance team with respect to the acquisition and development of key content to drive growth for the platform.
Ensure localisation budgets are monitored closely are consistent with management expectations of volume and cost.
Support Finance Director through provision of financial information and detailed analysis required to make adjustments / improvements to marketing, content planning and analytics reporting requirements.
Work with insights / analytics team to ensure the effective sharing of knowledge across the various functions to foster good commercial acumen and decision making.
Process Management
Oversee implementation of new processes, systems and structures to meet the growing needs of the business.
Review existing processes and actively challenge the status quo, providing proposals for process / systems improvement that will positively impact business effectiveness.
Ensure the dissemination of sensitive information is in alignment with the principles outlined by US and head of DSS.
Basic Qualifications :
Finance, Accounting or related degree strong preference for qualified accountant though not essential
Minimum of 8-10+ years’ experience in financial analysis, planning and budgeting
Experience and knowledge of SAP is preferred
Knowledge of Streaming and Media Distribution viewed favourably
Strong technical skills finance, business modelling and presentation skills
Advanced Excel skills and ability to manage and chart data
Experience with Macro or BI module set up preferable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with ability to converse with various stakeholders from different function and markets
Strong capability to cope with highly matrixed organization structure, and fast paced changing environment
Proven ability to demonstrate initiative and behave in a self-directed manner
High level of integrity
Project orientation and ability to handle simultaneous functions
Ability to work under high pressure to meet deadlines
Must be fluent in both English and Mandarin
