Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ( LCDs ) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
The Technology Cost & Capital engineer is responsible to support analysis and justification of potential and proposed capital projects for the Display Engineering and CDT Engineering organizations.
The position also supports the day to day activities of the CGT Capital Technology manager. This includes analysis of payback and return on proposed capital technology projects, driving assessment of alternatives, supporting the development of Appropriation Requests, and supporting proposal reviews for the CDT Investment Committee.
The position will also support cost analysis and justification reviews for proposed Design Change Requests, and development of the GreenBook and BlackBook capital plans, including annual Appropriation Requests for Melting Repairs (Nimble) and Finishing retrofits.
