Responsible for the performance and management of the Taiwan HR organization, ensuring SLA / KPI defined service delivery to management and employees of AkzoNobel.

Head of HR :

  • Oversees the ongoing operation of the HR function in Taiwan (HR BP / Local CoEs and HR Services) to assure economies of scale are maximized and service levels are attained / maintained
  • Ensures efficient and effective local coordination and collaboration between CoE / HR BP and People Services
  • Deploys and implements Taiwan HR Strategy and prioritize the HR projects, in line with the business, corporate and regional HR strategy
  • Provides input to regional HR Strategy from Taiwan perspective
  • Drives the implementation of the HR Operating Model in Taiwan, including change management
  • Drives standardization and harmonization of processes and conditions in Taiwan
  • Ensures the People Service Center is staffed according to the standards set by Global People Services. Exceptions in staffing issues require approval of the Regional HRD
  • Responsible for annual Taiwan HR budget, follow up of actual costs and for taking applicable actions when required from a cost perspective
  • Influencing regional CoE ensuring the voice of Taiwan is heard
  • Ensures optimal alignment with the Business Units (BU) / Function agenda
  • Leads yearly discussion / negotiation on the SLA’s and KPI’s with the business
  • Manages and channels performance feedback and ensures continuous improvement of the HR delivery
  • Manages Industrial / Labor Relations in Taiwan in line with BU / Function needs and global template to ensure the position of AkzoNobel in Taiwan is optimally leveraged
  • Drives the Employer Value Proposition (EVP) in Taiwan
  • Consults and provides HR functional perspective on project activities such as mergers, acquisitions / divestitures and joint ventures when required
  • HR Business Partnering :

  • Provides HR partnership & expertise to the Business Management Team in achieving Taiwan business agenda
  • Acts as coach and counsel to leaders to create the right culture and organizational model. Challenge management and act as a mirror (incl.
  • employee engagement, Values and Leadership Behaviors and drive a strong performance management culture

  • Supports with Workforce Planning to build a strong and sustainable human capital in order to support the strategy and further growth of the organization in Taiwan
  • Helps leaders to identify, calibrate, develop and deploy talent across the organization. Identify, evaluate and manage talent risks
  • Supports & coaches leaders in the assessment and management of the individual and team performance
  • To drive BU / Function specific initiatives to support business sales and growth eg Sales Incentive Scheme (SIS), competencies framework, mentoring program
  • Requirements

  • Academic background with deep functional knowledge and HR expertise
  • Proven track record in delivering results in an international matrix organization
  • Proven track record in handling labor relations / grievances at national level.
  • Catalyst for change with the ability to drive change
  • Deliver through others / ability to influence people at all levels in the organization in HR and in the business and to build relationships with these stakeholders
  • Leadership competence
  • Communication skills, in matrix environment
  • Leads from a core set of personal values and sense of purpose in line with the AkzoNobel values
