Position Overview

You'll be a champion of RGA's culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build their organizations and make sure all people decisions are based on the best available data.

Whether coaching on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our next generation of leaders, you are exceptionally focused on putting our people first.

Lead, coordinate and manage forward thinking HR initiatives that mirror the strategic business objectives of the Taiwan business and provide additional remote support to the Hong Kong and Southeast Asia Business as required.

Build an HR infrastructure at the local level that aligns with the business needs. Manage programs at the country level covering various human resources programs including recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, training and succession planning, employee communication, compliance and regulatory as well as employee relations.

  • Responsibilities

    Organizational Development

  • Partner with business / functional leaders to achieve desired business results through the identification of organization goals and gaps
  • Lead all efforts across the business to position RGA Taiwan in top quartile across all RGA offices, measured in the employee engagement survey
  • Position RGA Taiwan as a top branded employer within the Taiwan market as measured by both domestic and international surveys
  • Use organization development methodologies, develop appropriate intervention plans and assist the leaders in implementation
  • Lead and develop annual training plan
  • Facilitate the establishment of high performance teams
  • Develop / improve Talent Management strategies and HR processes
  • Coach others on change management
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops
  • Lead performance improvement projects
  • Manage development curriculum and programs in conjunction with global / regional team
  • Consult with individuals to improve personal effectiveness
  • Employee Relations

  • Manage the performance management cycle
  • Work with the Management team to facilitate the career development of our best and brightest employees across the business
  • Maintain low rate of unresolved employee issues
  • Actively support the development of effective performance evaluation goals that are aligned with business strategy
  • Recruitment, Selection, Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment in accordance with Recruitment Policy
  • Coach hiring managers when required on selection methodology to ensure sound candidate selection decisions are made
  • Use a full variety and scope of candidate attraction options. Proactively approach relevant high level talent using a variety of networking techniques.
  • In addition manage external agency relationships to support hiring needs.

  • Strategically develop qualitative recruitment research and provide quality market intelligence
  • Proactively create and maintain pools of candidates for high turnover / tough to fill and strategically identified recruitment needs
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends in attracting and selecting talent
  • Manage positive relationships with preferred agency suppliers and other external suppliers
  • Manage recruitment budget by adopting effective recruitment methods
  • Manage and maintain our employee induction and on boarding program
  • Remuneration, Rewards & Benefits

  • Administer company benefits
  • Assist with salary benchmarking, including salary survey data submissions
  • Administer the annual remuneration cycle
  • Prepare end of year reporting for calibration meetings & for payroll in support of local Finance team and in the future outsourced payroll provider
  • Roll out global HR policies & initiatives as required
  • Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislations, e.g. labour law, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) etc.
  • Regional Project Management & Administration

  • Support HR team based Hong Kong / SEA and China as required
  • Participate and / or lead projects locally, regionally and globally as required
  • Prepare monthly staff update slides for HR presentations
  • HR Administration & System

  • Effectively manage the HR system to ensure personnel data is current and accurately maintained
  • Effectively manage the recruitment portal
  • Administer and maintain HR data and records properly
  • Required

  • Formal tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or related field
  • At least 8 years’ experience in human resources
  • Strong administration and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Competent with numbers and attention to details
  • Solid experience in training and development will be advantageous
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills ability to build and maintain effective relationships with management and staff
  • Consultation / Facilitation / Communication skills
  • Project leadership and management skills
  • Ability to teach / instruct

  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written in English and Mandarin
  • Some regional travel may be required from time to time
  • Preferred

  • Experience within financial services, consulting or insurance industries
  • Experience in a global matrix organization
  • Knowledge of accounting is helpful
  • Lean / Six Sigma familiarity is helpful
  • Trainer experience
