JOB SUMMARY
This position provides global, cross-functional expertise, guidance, support and governance relative to product safety, regulatory and compliance requirements and business processes to ensure NZXT products are safe, compliant and conform to customer requirements and meet all legal requirements for import and sale in all designated countries of sale.
The qualified candidate will apply their world-wide regulatory requirements expertise, product safety, electrical and mechanical engineering expertise and knowledge of EMC regulations / testing to help ensure NZXT products are designed and conform with applicable regulatory and NZXT requirements world-wide.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure NZXT achieves and maintains an effective product compliance position, to prevent and / or resolve product impacts / delays to the customer while minimizing business risk to NZXT
Provide expert product safety technical guidance and serve as the technical resource in your area(s) of expertise
Assist in the development of product safety and product stewardship strategies incorporating best industry practices to ensure customer confidence in the safety / compliance of NZXT products
Collaborate globally and work cross-functionally with other organizations to develop and provide effective processes, procedures and methods to ensure that product groups can sustain product compliance
Maintain knowledge and application of the regulations, standards, requirements and certifications that apply to NZXT products
Review, conduct or participate in investigations and root cause analysis of product safety-related events
Monitor, interpret and report status on existing and emerging global requirements with potential to impact NZXT products, effectively communicate those product safety and regulatory impacts within NZXT and assist in the development and implementation of new and / or modified strategies and Engineering / business processes to address new requirements
Establish, document, implement and maintain NZXT’s regulatory compliance processes to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and internal requirements.
Assist in the development, review and maintenance of product engineering safety compliance policies, procedures, SOPs and workflows
Monitor and perform periodic reviews / audits on selected business processes and products to ensure on-going effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements
Lead and / or participate in the development and delivery of awareness training and guidance to NZXT product design team, compliance stakeholders and management concerning interpretation, understanding and complying with regulations / requirements
Establish, monitor and report relevant metrics / KPI’s
Prepare written reports, exposure / hazard / risk assessments
Develop and execute projects within scope / budget / schedule expectations to achieve required results
Communicate and represent NZXT positions to suppliers, customers and outside industry trade groups / organizations
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. degree in Science or Engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, chemical)
5+ years product safety experience with a minimum of 3 years in the consumer electronics industry
Professional certifications a plus
Comprehensive understanding and application of the principles and practices of product safety to high-tech consumer electronics products.
Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering practices and principles
Working knowledge of EMC regulations, EN55032 / CISPR 32, EN55035 / CISPR 35, IEC / EN62368-1, and test methodologies applicable to electronics equipment
Awareness of and basic understanding of chemical systems, fluid and gas delivery, chemical safety, global chemical restriction and chemical control laws, Industrial Hygiene
Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex technical and regulatory problems, consult with relevant stakeholders, and propose practical solutions
Knowledge of industry standards / regulations that impact consumer electronics products Labeling requirements; CE Marking directives, EMC and RoHS Directives;
IEC / EN / UL / KCC Standards. EU & country specific chemical, REACH, RoHS, WEEE, GHS, & HazCom regulations; TSCA, California Prop65
Ability to apply hazard / risk analysis, to identify compliance deficiencies, opportunities to improve product safety and / or quality;
effectively document, communicate and track results to resolution
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; exercises sound judgement in applying these skills
Excellent written / verbal / communication and presentation skills
