Purpose of the Position :
Apply statistical techniques to address a diverse range of industrial issues. Utilize data analysis techniques to improve product / process quality and manufacturing efficiency, reduce cycle-
time, loss, and implement improved processes and products.
Day to Day Responsibilities :
Improving manufacturing capabilities (e.g. efficiencies, yields, cycle time, and / or material utilization) by identifying and eliminating root cause(s) of variability
Problem solving and / or process improvement using a structured methodical approaches and appropriate application of statistics (e.g. Six Sigma)
Evaluating impact on the product / process from new or existing : raw materials, processes, and / or equipment parameters
Evaluating measurement systems to improve quality and / or reduce inspection costs.
Designing experiments to identify key process inputs / interactions and impact on product
Involve in process variability reductions, manufacturing capability and process control for consistent performance, material utilization, product quality, process optimization and cost reductions.
Support cross discipline project teams for research, development, engineering, and manufacturing projects
Job may require periodic travel to US headquarters in Corning, NY and / or vendors / manufacturing locations in Asia for process development / optimization for new products, new operation and process improvement projects.
