Senior Advisor, Global Commodity Management


  • Coordinates and integrates the flow of materials and information among suppliers, operations / manufacturing, distributors and customers.
  • Conducts and / or manages strategic supply chain analysis to identify and recommend opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain.
  • Works closely with other functional areas to develop supply chains for new and existing products.
  • Manages global system product transitions to minimize excess and obsolete material.
  • Coordinates activities globally to prevent material shortages and react quickly to material shortages.
  • Works with regional demand teams to plan pre-production and production materials.
  • Partners with Global Commodity Managers for product sourcing decisions.
  • Represents procurement on product development teams to ensure design to value analysis is done throughout product lifecycle and help manage / reduce supply chain complexity.
  • Provides procurement expertise to ensure optimized supply chain strategies and business plans are in place for assigned products and to ensure best cost and COS.
  • Leads World-Wide Procurement and regional extended teams to ensure risk mitigation plan is in place for any identified supply chain risks.
  • Tracks procurement deliverables within Phase Review Process.
  • Responsible for key service level metrics and performance. Drives s supply chain cost reduction initiatives.
  • Negotiates supplier cost reductions.
  • Prepares cost forecasts and business reviews.
  • Responsible for domestic and international delivery processes.
  • Manages supplier to Global Inventory Control Policy.

  • Leads multiple programs of low complexity (technology, organizationally)
  • Identifies and defines opportunities for process improvements within the procurement / supply chain function
  • Implements change as directed in the product development process
  • Determines appropriate courses of action utilizing strong knowledge of internal procedures and supply chain expertise
  • Accountable for meeting schedules and financial targets aligned with a particular platform or commodity
  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members and regularly influences and directs organization regarding appropriate supply chain decisions
  • Assists management in the development of key initiatives to improve business processes and customer service delivery
  • Presents and communicates status to the business leaders
  • Maintains relationships with management both internally and externally with customers and vendors

    Undergraduate degree above and 8+ years relevant experience

    Server experience is preferred
