creating a vital competitive edge. As an HSE Manager, you will be part of the Power Grids (PG) Business and Grid Integration Business Line (BL), based in Taipei City.
ABB is World’s No.1 in Power Products Business and the product manufactured becomes the key components to transmit and distribute electricity.
The division incorporates ABB’s manufacturing network for Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Cables and associated equipment.
It also offers all the services needed to ensure products’ performance and extend their lifespan. You will support managers and employees to deliver a high performing culture through clear line management accountability and a competent organization in the Grids and Power Quality Solutions Product Group / Grid Integration Business Line (BL) / Power Grids (PG) Business, based in Taipei City / Taiwan country / NAS region.
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will lead HSE in Local Business Unit and contribute to improving Health Safety and Environment (HSE) performance in the respective organization to ensure and exemplary health and safety cultures as well as a strong focus on the environment.
Support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge to offer solutions and advice. Facilitate delivery of support from the Center of Expertise (CoE) and ensure effective risk management through HSE excellence along ABB’S value chain.
Report HSE incidents. Feedback on lessons learned and best practice from own unit and across ABB to management and employees.
Report on HSE performance and progress on implementation of ABB Group Sustainability objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ABB Group, as required.
Implement policies and standards. Ensure area of responsibility is audited according to program for audit. Assist line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liability and how to fulfill their roles, according to local HSE law and ABB Group policy, instructions and standards.
Support compliance with human rights, security and crisis management processes
Facilitate HSE risks assessment by line management involving shop floor employees, i.e. those directly concerned by the hazards, and ensure all processes are implemented.
Drive behavioral change through implementing Group-wide performance improvement programs and practices locally to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on environment throughout the respective organization.
Engage external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stake holders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB’s HSE efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback Cooperate with other functions, the CoE and business partners to drive performance.
Participate in defining the annual budget for area of responsibility and is accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets and constrains.
Ensure appropriate HSE equipment and tools are available and used. Identify, plan, and initiate training need, e.g. for employees, site managers, contractors, site managers, and facilitates delivery of support from the CoE.
Drive and ensure compliances with Group management systems.
Contribute to and / or plans and executes Health (and / or) Safety (and / or) Environment performance and Corporate Responsibility related projects.
Develop and reports on project objectives.
Manage project resources such as manpower, financials and other relevant factors.
Ensure that the area of responsibility is appropriately organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct / indirect subordinate within HR policies.

University Graduate with major in Civil engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
More than 8 years of working experience.
Good knowledge of local occupational safety and health related laws.
Certified at least with 職業安全衛生管理員乙級技術士.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence employees and contractors to follow ABB OHS guidelines and local regulation requirement.
Experience of construction project execution is preferred.
Expertise in leading, managing OHS affairs internally and externally (project, work site).
Familiar with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001.
Good in communication and risk management skills.
Ability to work independently and he / she must be patience with a sense of urgency.
Fluent in oral and written English and Chinese.
