Scope of Position : The qualified candidate will provide leadership and direction for an IT organization and initiatives of diverse scope across engineering and laboratory environments, early stage business and manufacturing, knowledge management, and associated data and modeling environments.

Subject matter knowledge combined with leadership skills are required to develop competency and capabilities to deliver robust services for a leading innovation company.

Highly desirable are (i) technical expertise in computer and information related fields, and (ii) experience in project leadership / management.

Day to Day Responsibilities :

  • Build rapport across MT&E, S&T, Corning IT, and related business and functional organizations
  • Work with Corning’s engineering organizations to assist with product and process development, early stage testing, laboratory environment implementation and management, and assisting in IP development.
  • Achieve desired business results, primarily through appropriate allocation of IT resources and capabilities.
  • Represent all aspects of IT including IT operational performance.
  • Drive execution of technology programs within area of responsibility using rigor and scientific methods.
  • Deliver projects on time, on scope, and on budget through project prioritization and effective resource management.
  • Leverage mature IT Service Lines to advance engineering services and capabilities.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to interact with customers in the development and implementation of required programs and processes.
  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
  • Shape and integrate IT services and processes to serve the technology community.
  • Identify and align effective interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
  • Establish a presence across the customer’s locations to maintain an ongoing pulse of the organization.
  • Create and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.Travel Requirements (please note if international) : 30% (international required)Required Education : Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related engineering fieldRequired Years and Area of Experience : 5-
