As an Electrical Engineer within Advanced Technology and Projects, you will be responsible for electrical architecture and all aspects of electrical design for products : from design, to validation, and manufacturing.

You'll contribute a background in Electrical Engineering (EE) design and knowledge of hardware development for consumer products.

You will help define architecture, provide design, test and validation requirements, oversee physical engineering design layout, lead board bring, up and work cross-functionally on system integration.

Additionally, you'll work cross-functionally with Mechanical Design, Operations, and Product Engineering teams to deliver systems to production.

In this role, you'll need to travel to support engineering builds.

Googlers working on ATAP projects will create demonstrations and user experiences that appear magical, simple and wondrous and deliver at lightning speeds.


  • Lead Electrical Engineering hardware development for low power consumer products from concept into production. Lead all Electrical Engineering related failure analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving on products and platforms.
  • Manage schematic generation, part selection, layout creation, EMC / EMI / ESD strategy, board bring up, and validation.
  • Manage the RF subsystem including design, validation, and testing.
  • Represent the Electrical Engineering team in meetings with cross-functional Engineering teams. Manage vendors to ensure quality of technical deliverables.
  • Engage in establishing technology roadmaps and creating proof of concept prototypes.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • 5 years of industry experience in schematic design, layout, fabrication, validation and testing of high speed and RF subsystems.
  • Experience designing and delivering products.

  • Experience in driving Electrical Engineering related factory processes and moving products into production.
  • Experience with electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators).
  • Experience with MCUs, sensors and bluetooth sub-modules.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience with driving module suppliers and with sensor design and integration.
  • Experience leading a touch sub system through a complete product cycle.
  • Knowledge of related areas (e.g., SoC architecture, power design, Signal Integrity / Power Integrity, RF, Analog, digital design).
  • Ability to leverage project teams to manage project priorities and technical resources.
  • Excellent statistical analysis skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
