What You’ll Do

Regional Category Manager is focused on the effective and efficient procurement of Woodworking Power Tools incl. miter saws in support of Stanley Black & Decker’s 20 / 20 / 25 vision.

This leader will be responsible for overseeing Total Cost Ownership (TCO) value creation through a combination of productivity, quality, innovation, service excellence, dual source and risk mitigation in our supply chain on global basis.

Given the nature of category initiatives, the Regional Sourcing Manager works with cross functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing to achieve both strategic and tactical goals.

Specifically, you will :

  • Partner with the stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies for applicable spend categories.
  • Develop and foster strategic supplier relationships that deliver cost reduction, supply assurance, quality improvement and innovation.
  • Identify and develop dual source opportunities for finished products and sub-components.
  • Lead sourcing activities for new products development to support organic growth.
  • Identify and communicate risks and coordinate its mitigation plans.
  • Improve supplier fill rate to meet customer demand.
  • Work with engineering, marketing, suppliers and others to identify and drive productivity opportunities.
  • Implement corporate policies and initiatives such as but not limited to supplier diversity, supplier risk, data management, etc.
  • Use sourcing tools within spend analytics, contract management, productivity tracking, linear performance price analysis, etc to help drive category performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Logistics, etc) across the company to drive success.

  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 5+ years of sourcing experience
  • A balance of both strategic and operational capacities including supplier management, risk management, etc.
  • Consumer Products industry experience preferred
  • Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Global mindset with experience working in an international / multi-cultural matrix environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Passion for creating value and improving processes
