Role Profile

The Manager, Quantitative Fixed Income and Multi-Asset (FIMA) Product Research reports directly to the Senior Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Product Manager, APAC, within the Information Services division at LSEG.

The successful candidate will be involved in the research and development of new smart-beta and thematic indexes to expand FTSE’s existing family of Fixed Income and Multi-Asset indexes to cater for the needs of our global sales and client groups.

Additionally this Taipei-based role will participate in developing and maintaining various smart-beta or thematic indexes.

In a BAU capacity the Quantitative Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Product Researcher will be required to support asset-owner client engagement programmes, deepen the existing relationship with ETF clients, implementing back-tests and undertaking quantitative fixed income and multi-asset index research and analysis, and ultimately contributing to the FIMA research agenda / reports.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Global FIMA Product and Research team as needed to analyse new smart beta index ideas, run simulations and implement index rules systematically
  • Contribute to the research and supporting analysis for new white papers and studies in the Fixed Income and Multi-Asset smart beta and factors space
  • Support client product engagement programmes, working with global product and research teams to enhance the take-up and ongoing use of our benchmarking
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, governance & risk, product management colleagues, global research and client services, implement successful outcomes for FTSE FIMA indices
  • Work closely with regional and global team to support the further development of global fixed income and multi-asset product strategies to drive ETF client adoption and AUM-based revenues both regionally and globally, ensuring the FTSE FIMA thematic product is differentiated, innovative and best-in-class.

  • Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Sophisticated knowledge of fixed income indices and analytics
  • Understanding of the investment process and some experience in dealing with asset owners, investment consultants, and asset managers would be desirable
  • Good understanding of the financial markets across both buy and sell side areas
  • Prior experience with investment house, bank, index provider would be a plus
  • Prior total relevant experience of 3-5 years
  • Prior experience of managing a team of researchers and product specialists
  • The candidate should have a quantitative and financial background with a Master in Financial Engineering / Finance / Computational Finance / Economics / Maths / Statistics / Computer Science and / or an undergraduate degree of similar majors (include GPA in resume)
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Software skills such as VBA, Matlab, C, C++, Java or other scripting languages would be a plus
