The successful candidate will manage the external communications strategy which will reflect the Company’s views on a wide range of topics including the regulatory environment, taxation, the illegal trade of tobacco, public relations and any other issue deemed necessary to protect the commercial and reputation interests.

Also, the person is in charge the key local CSR programmes to drive sustainable, positive impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall external communications strategy for Taiwan market
  • Manage the development and operation of effective communications for external stakeholders so that the Company is speaking with consistency on the issues affecting its business
  • Support the Corporate Affairs function from a communications perspective in its political engagement activities in light of the regulatory challenges and industry issues the business faces in Taiwan
  • Successfully develop national media relations program including campaigns, editorials and press releases to bring balance to the debate, defend the company position and enhance its reputation Identify local CSR programmes
  • Manage and establish CSR relationships with main beneficiaries; maintain reporting / inspection procedures to achieve agreed outcomes and deliver real change and impact to enhance inclusiveness in the community
  • Manage call center with a view to providing continuously enhanced customer services; mitigate potential reputation risks and prevent cases from turning into a crisis
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communications support across the Company as and when needed
  • Key requirements

  • University degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, or related subject
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Communications Specialist
  • Experience in an international environment or multinational company ideally FMCG would also be desirable
  • Experience in event management would be a plus
  • Business Level English speaking and writing required
  • Functionally native Chinese speaking and writing required
  • Must have a passion for writing with proof of actual articles / editorial developed
  • Excellent communications skills, a true team player with the confidence and ability to communicate at all levels within the business and with key external partners
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
  • Excellent attention to details and good control of work schedules are must
