The QCT Product & Test group has an opening for a mechanical design position with an emphasis on bench boards and characterization fixturing along as well as ATE loadboard / probecards.
The focus will be on mechanical design and integrity of probehead and probe socket design constraints, tolerance and deflection analysis, troubleshooting alignment issues, and supplier drawing approval for the PTE probe test environment.
Responsibilities : Responsibilities include the following : Probe HW design and analysisPWB form, fit, keep outs, test points, and applicable loading or stress issues.
Performing mechanical simulations of various probehead enclosure and stiffener designs to estimate deflection due to ATE and probe loads.
Optimization of the mechanical design and material selection to develop robust probecards for high volume wafer level testing.
Conduct and coordinate mechanical tests on PWBs assemblies for material properties and mechanical behavior validation. Define DOEs and test plans and work with operations team and applications lab.
Detect / troubleshoot deflection and stress risks and provide solutions to support high volume testingSupport development and qualification of new ATE platforms and fine pitch probe designs.
Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment for wafer level packages is preferred. Must work closely with cross functional teams and approved suppliers.
The candidate should have 2-4 years of overall experience in mechanical design using Solid Modeling.
Experience with automated test equipment will be preferred. W
Working knowledge of Creo (Pro Engineer) or equivalent CAD tool and FEA software (Ansys / Creo-Simulate / Solidworks etc).
Should have hands-on experience in mechanical and material testing.
Must be able to perform tolerance analysis and have a working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T tolerances.
Must be able to perform deflection analysis for PWBs and provide designs of probecard assemblies to meet the requirements of the project.
Candidate shall be self-motivated, energetic, schedule driven, and work on multiple projects. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient use of Microsoft Power Point and other Office software preferred.
Experience in RF test methodology development and implementation using LabVIEW / TestStand or Matlab. Understanding of RF Measurement science.
Knowledge of the measurements necessary to characterize an mmW / RF device through theoretical and practical application.
Required : Bachelor's, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Preferred : Master's, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
