Job Description

Discipline lead (FULL-TIME) to work with the Engineering Department of Li-GBU in China. This position is a part of the team responsible for the project execution (concept design through to start-up) to build a production facility for Lithium Hydroxide.

The candidate will provide oversight, lead engineering in house, site design, construction, commissioning, capex procurement support and team management as organization.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Work with cross functional team especially Jiangxi / Sichuan plant team to define engineering scope, goals, and deliverables that support the business objectives.
  • Drive and lead effective execution of the engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities throughout the project, leveraging many diverse and local or global vendors.
  • Maintain quality and timeliness of all engineering activities and deliverables throughout the process.
  • Work with local design institute, engineering 3rd party to ensure the technical correctness of all engineering designs and associated report.
  • Coordinate resource requirements and project execution with other ongoing plant activities / work to ensure all stakeholder expectations be aligned.
  • Ensure all technical documents are checked, reviewed and approved at the appropriate levels and input is incorporated.
  • Participate in the supply chain functions including but not limited to the execution of requests for proposals, the creation of and approval of purchasing requisitions, bid tabulations, and single source justifications.
  • Identify and manage scope changes especially focus on the technical solution.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, project documentation requirements, engineering standards and specifications.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting including weekly and monthly report which support the project controls function.
  • Desired Qualifications :

    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Ability to align project objectives and clear engineering targetAbility to supervise multi-disciplined teams.

    Sensitive to engineering / project change management.

    Good safety concept in engineering designA leader in safety on assigned projects including setting expectations and being visible in the field.

    Cooperate with plant HSSE team to ensure construction / commissioning move forward in space limitation in existed plant.Understanding of engineering progress and construction productivity measurement.

    Ideal to have experience in full phase of design experience.Familiar with engineering and construction documents.Knowledge with front-end definition scoring tools such as PDRI, FELx, or equivalent.

    Working knowledge of engineering design tools 3-D Model Review, PDMS etc.Basic knowledge of engineering document control.

    ConstructionBasic understanding of constructability reviews and other value improving practices.Basic knowledge of construction labor planning.

    Knowledge of construction safety requirements and measurement.

    Planning and Cost control

    Knowledge of project controls and cost forecasting.

    Ability to prepare and analyse critical path schedules.Basic estimating skills and knowledge of engineering and construction cost structure.

    OthersCapability to lead, manage and coordinate engineering teamBasic knowledge of materials management, procurement, receiving, warehousing, GR, etc.

    Experience with SAP Project Module and other basic SAP transactions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent people skills - Customer focused.

    Computer skill

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Excel, Word.Familiarity with commercially available plant design products such as Autodesk’s AutoCAD, Intergraph PDS, PDMS etc
