This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base. Job Purpose Lead Digital business in Taiwan to ensure the delivery of superior performance against financial and non-financial KPIs, consistent with the Global Retail Banking Digital strategy.

Oversee and develop Digital Country management ensuring the team can deliver current and long-term strategic objectives.

The Role Responsibilities & Ideal Candidate Strategy

  • Develop and implement country strategy for Digital Taiwan, consistent with the agreed Global Retail Banking Digital strategy
  • Deliver sustained profitability through the sustaining digital sales funnel and quality excellence, building prolong revenue generating model & capability and acquire main bank relationship
  • Develop and implement an effective plan that supports operational resilience and the delivery of strategies, including people, premises, technology and behaviours.
  • Ensure that the plan is aligned with the countries’ short, medium and longer-term aspirations

  • Develop clear and achievable plans for delivery of future growth in Taiwan
  • Participate in strategic and corporate development discussions involving the Retail Banking business in Taiwan
  • Business

  • Create a plan for Digital to deliver budget for Taiwan, consistent with global frameworks
  • Lead a culture of digital service, sales and innovation
  • Establish and address an agenda of top issues and opportunities to improve digital performance and digital capabilities, in both the short and longer-term
  • Processes

  • Own Digital processes (in line with the Group’s process universe as set out in the Group Operational Risk Framework) for Taiwan to achieve improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • In addition, effectively manage associated risks of Digital processes, including activities which are carried out by other businesses or functions.

  • Accountable to risk control owners and / or Group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them, ensuring compliance, operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite and building a culture of good conduct
  • People and Talent

  • Develop Digital leaders / talents in country to build capability and ensure delivery of the business’ short and longer-term objectives
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles
  • Responsibility to review team structure and capacity plans
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives
  • Risk Management

  • Ensure optimal risk and control environment for Digital Taiwan be effectively mitigating any identified risks
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate systems and controls are following Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing all Risk types : Compliance, Technology and Operations, Finance and Reputation.
  • Develop and implement clear structures of accountability to ensure : Team members can perform successfully in their roles There is clear oversight / supervision / decision making e.g. committees
  • Ensure effective implementation of Risk Management framework in Digital Taiwan : Such that an appropriate risk appetite is clear and integral to the way all employees operate, implementing appropriate controls consistent with global strategyEffective processes are established and maintained to identify, manage, monitor and report riskSystems and procedures to safeguard the security, integrity and confidentiality of information
  • Governance

  • Responsible for assessing Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Responsible for delivering effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • Regulatory & Business conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
  • This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Lead Digital Taiwan to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles : Fair Outcomes for Clients; Financial Crime Prevention; The Right Environment
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters
  • Ensure that all material risks are monitored, managed and escalated where necessary
