The Intel Systems Products Group (SPG) is looking for an experienced BIOS Engineer to develop breakthrough solutions for CCG's Systems business.
SPG's products include the Intel NUC, Unbranded notebooks and Intel Compute Element product families.
In this position, you will manage all the system BIOS and driver technical aspects of SPG product development with Independent BIOS Vendor (IBV) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), and collaborate with a team to develop Intel system products, responsible for a product from initial concept through retail launch.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Driving all aspects of platform firmware solutions including BIOS requirements and collaterals, design and implementation, validation and integration, software tools and deployment, and product launch and sustaining.
Guiding IBV and ODM on firmware development and assisting vendors receiving technical support from SOC and CCE teams on critical issues encountered during NPI development.
Coordinating BIOS development schedule, prioritization, and planning, and providing power-on debug, onsite support, and giving development guidance to IBV and ODM when needed.
Providing technical support and training to partner teams of organization.
Communicating essential status updates to SPG management on BIOS, firmware, software, and security regarding product quality and customer satisfaction.
You must possess at least a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in either Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 7+ years of applicable experience on BIOS and / or device driver development.
Additional qualifications include :
In-depth knowledge of PC architecture and BIOS.
Demonstrated skill with C / C++, Assembly language programming in BIOS.
Good understanding of BIOS-Windows interface, WMI, WHQL validation, WDA process, and WU submission process.
Familiar with CPU initialization, chipset configuration, memory initialization, and performance tuning.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex problem statements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate complex ideas to audiences of varied technical ability.
