ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The RF Infrastructure Engineer is a key member of the SES Networks Solutions Integration & Infrastructure Department, providing technical leadership and expertise in the areas of ground systems operations, support, maintenance, system adaptation and continual improvement of SES Networks RF solutions.
The engineer’s primary objective is to ensure SES Networks’ customers are provided the highest quality service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
RF Level 3 Engineering support for 24x7 NOC
Support Incident Management in line with Company defined ITIL processes, ensuring timely escalations as appropriate to meet Customer SLA’s
Complete Global RF System changes as required, adhering to the defined Change Management process
Work as part of a Global Team to ensure active Incidents are actioned utilizing a Follow the Sun support methodology
Routine auditing of assigned Regional Area or specific Customer sites, liaising closely with NOC & appropriate CSM / RSL for any identified issues
Ensure Incident Management ticketing system is updated with correct resolutions and closure codes to promote continual improvement of the troubleshooting process
Provide remote on-call support on a rotating basis and emergency on-call as required
Provide written procedures for regular tasks
Other ad-hoc tasks, as assigned by Line Manager
Experience in a start-up environment and proven track record of working on complex projects with multiple reporting lines
Experience of dealing directly with customers and understanding how to manage expectations
Ability to work with little to no supervision
Displays a strong commitment to the success of SES Networks and inspires others to commit to the organizations goals
Deals effectively with pressure; remains optimistic and proactively identifies ways to contribute to SES Networks’ goals and missions
Establishes and maintains good working relationships; demonstrating an open-minded attitude

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
BS in Engineering, computer science or equivalent experience with communications satellite systems or similar advanced technical support role
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Good communication skills, both in writing and verbal
Strong customer and communication skills
Minimum 7 years of experience in the satellite, telecommunications, or similar technical industry
Experience in developing and / or maintaining satellite terminal systems or satellite-based networking & data systems, with VSAT experience a plus
Experience troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining local and remote baseband, IF, RF, antennas, and WAN / LAN equipment
Solid working knowledge of Satellite Communications Baseband, Network Management, and Modem systems equipment
