Mechanical Sr. Principal Engineer
Responsible for the design and development activities associated with systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and coordinates validation testing on new and modified designs.
Develops and / or drives the innovative mechanical design sol unions for desktop, portable and server computer systems and peripherals.
Responsible for all mechanical development activities. Uses or directs the use of state-of-the-art CAD and analysis tools to create mechanical designs for mass production.
Ensures product features achieve cost, schedule, quality and budgetary goals. Directs support personnel in all mechanical development activities.
Advanced mechanical aptitude for interpretation of mechanical drawing specifications
Advanced knowledge and understanding of manufacturing-driven design issues
Advanced ability to read and understand complex drawings as well as 3D databases
Advanced understanding of appropriate technologies, vendor products and competitor's offerings
Advanced ability to analyze options for critical design elements and features, and determines optimum selection
Advanced understanding of using CAD and FEA tools
Advanced ability to read and understand technical data sheets
Advanced ability to read and understand circuit schematics
Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree;
or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
Program management or people management experience (preferred)
