As an IT Software Engineer in Infrastructure Automation team, you will be part of a project team utilizing Agile / Scrum methodologies to help configure, develop, maintain and support Micron and third-

party applications which drive infrastructure automation. You will be involved with a team of software engineers based in Boise and Taiwan to automate the infrastructure processes wherever possible to reduce manual process steps and ensure reliable and repeatable results.

The team’s goals are to provide end to end service automation, orchestration and service delivery.

Responsibilities and Tasks :

1. Analyze business needs to understand the problem

  • Join requirements meetings with key stakeholders / customers to identify, clarify and capture customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with other teams to meet customer's expectations.
  • 2. Analyze the software solution options

  • Design and then implement an automated solution, process, and workflow.
  • Design the solution & technical approach / process flow where relevant integrations are required to meet customers’ needs.
  • Lead or participate in a cost analysis.
  • Lead or participate in a decision analysis.
  • 3. New tools and technologies

  • Research new tools and technologies for use within the team. This includes Microsoft System Center and Operations Management Suite automation products and Microsoft Azure Automation with Operations Management Suite among others.
  • 4. Follow the software development lifecycle to deliver solutions

  • Design a solution based on customer requirements.
  • Implement the software solution.
  • Complete unit testing.
  • Participate with end users in integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Create documentation (technical specifications, test plans, deployment plans, etc.).
  • 5. Provide 24x7 escalation support for software issues

  • Assist in the troubleshooting of code defects in C# / Web application, T-SQL and PowerShell scripts.
  • Understand existing automation technologies and recommend process improvement, identify gaps and implement.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of existing applications.
  • 6. Work to maintain skills and improve the IT roadmap

  • Attend conferences and seminars.
  • Attend training and implement the information learned.
  • Research best practices, current trends, and techniques.
  • Implement technology interactions based on company and industry best practices.
  • Qualifications and Experience :

  • 5+ years direct experience in ASP.NET MVC and Visual Studio.
  • 1+ years direct experience in PowerShell, scripting Language.
  • Familiar with C#, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, Javascript, CSS, MS SQL, DataBase is preferable.
  • Experience with Source Control Management tools such as; Team Foundation Server (TFS), GIT.
  • Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum methodology.
  • Experience development and consumption of REST API.
  • Others

    1. Bachelor’s degree (or above) major in Information Engineering or related fields.

    2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    3. Good English Language Skill.

    4. Experience in System developing, System Center Service automation, VMWare system management and administration is a plus.

    5. Experience in Remoting, Workflow, and DSC is a plus.

    6. Experience in understanding of Windows, Unix, and VMWare in Working knowledge of networking DNS, Windows system administration, VMware administration is a plus.

    7. Experience in Shell scripting (bash, ksh, csh), VMWare build automation - VM Build and patching is a plus.
