Performs a technical support role in District Sales and Services Leadership Meetings.
Presents and markets the design and value of proposed Dell EMC solution and business case to customers, prospects and EMC management.
Possesses detailed product / technology / industry knowledge. Knowledge of job associated software and applications.
Assists the Sales Team to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies, produce account specific product and service and sales plans.
Leverages knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections to Dell EMC solutions, and train the account team.
Executes technical sales calls
Configures and documents Dell EMC software, hardware and service solutions to meet customer and sales objectives. Completes required presales documentation quickly and accurately.
Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding.

Can present on the product and deliver the value proposition.
Pre-Sales skills with the different vendors disk offerings (HDS, IBM, EMC, STK)
Knowledge of Replication SW and HW. (RDF, PPRC, XRC, Global Mirror, HUR)
SSD, Flash, different drive technologies and which workload profiles go with which technology
Excellent presentation skills in front of all levels of IT, from Ops, 1st line mgr.
Customer focused on solution* Performance background preferred
Prior SE experience at one of the main vendors (IBM, EMC, HDS, NetApp, Pure), a plus
Focused on supporting customer initiatives in the Backup and DR markets.
Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP / IP, Fibre Channel, NVMe over Ethernet, FCoE architecture.
Prior work experience in the tape area preferred
Knowledge of VTL, NDMP, CIFS and NFS storage protocols.
Experience with tape replication preferred
Disaster Recovery knowledge preferred
Ability to fit into the Dell EMC culture code
Knowledge of UNIX and / or Linux knowledge including system administration, network administration, debugging and troubleshooting is desirable.
Technical concepts needed to understand value / benefit of product
Specialized Knowledge in one or more of the following BRS Core Products : Data Domain, Avamar, NetWorker, EMC Disk Library (EDL), Disk Library for Mainframe (DLM), Data Protection Advisor (DPA)
Specialized Knowledge in one or more of the following Backup and DR applications : Netbackup w / OST, TSM, CommVault, Backupexec
VMware VCP certificated is preferred
Knowledge of VMWare use cases and productivity applications
Focused on supporting customer initiatives in the Virtualization, Network Convergence, and Cloud Enablement markets.
Knowledge of networking media, protocols and vendor portfolios.
Technical knowledge of multiple server architectures, distributed systems and platform operating systems.
Familiar with VMWare portfolio, Microsoft Hyper-V , and Citrix virtualization architectures.
Experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting multi-terabyte information infrastructure for ESX server deployment and migration of conventional systems into virtualization is preferred.
Some evidence of the ability to evaluate, recommend, and select data application specific cloud design concepts, including Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, vBlock architecture and meta data management tools are preferred
Experience with data architecting, data migration, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering / analysis for virtualization is preferred.
