Purpose of the Position :
Apply statistical techniques to address a diverse range ofindustrial issues. Utilize data analysis techniques to improveproduct / process quality and manufacturing efficiency, reducecycle-
time, loss, and implement improved processes andproducts.
Day to DayResponsibilities :
Improving manufacturingcapabilities (e.g. efficiencies, yields, cycle time, and / ormaterial utilization) by identifying and eliminating root cause(s)of variability
Problem solving and / or processimprovement using a structured methodical approaches andappropriate application of statistics (e.g. Six Sigma)
Evaluating impact on the product / process from new orexisting : raw materials, processes, and / or equipmentparameters
Evaluating measurement systems toimprove quality and / or reduce inspection costs.
Designing experiments to identify key process inputs / interactionsand impact on product
Involve in processvariability reductions, manufacturing capability and processcontrol for consistent performance, material utilization, productquality, process optimization and cost reductions.
Support cross discipline project teams for research,development, engineering, and manufacturing projects
Job may require periodic travel to US headquartersin Corning, NY and / or vendors / manufacturing locations in Asia forprocess development / optimization for new products, new operationand process improvement projects.
