What You'll Do
Cisco is hiring a IC Packaging Engineer for our Supply Chain Organization in San Jose, CA.
In this role, you'll :
Develop advanced FCBGA packaging solutions (2.5D, fanout) for next gen semiconductor ICs.
Assess advanced packaging trends and select technology and partners for productization.
Define thermal and mechanical modeling requirements for new package configurations to select materials, processes and OSAT partners.
Plan and execute test vehicle DoEs to select materials and partners ; test vehicle characterization and qualification to optimize assembly process and establish device manufacturability and reliability.
Establish design rules for package envelopes by combining modeling and test vehicle characterization data.
Manage product assembly set up, inline metrology and quality controls and perform reliability testing.
Manage substrate and OSAT vendors to ensure smooth product NPI.
Who You'll Work With
You will collaborate with ASIC design teams, as well as several peer groups in our Supply Chain Organization. You will also have the opportunity to work with a large variety of suppliers and industry authorities.
Who You Are
You have expertise in packaging materials, structures and assembly processes as well as reliability and qualification methodologies.
Experience with advanced package technology development and NPI including 2.5D and fanout technologies.
You are familiar with FEM and numerical simulation methodologies.
You are experienced with package design using state-of-the-art CAD tools.
Hands-on experience with materials analysis and failure analysis.
Validated experience taking new package technologies to production.
10+ years industry experience.
MS / PhD in Mechanical Engineering / Material Science or related fields.
