This job is within NETGEAR Operations department and is responsible for ensuring NETGEAR products are environmentally compliant worldwide.
This position will be part of Arlo Technologies Inc. after NETGEAR spins-off its Arlo business unit into a separate public company later in 2018.
Monitor relevant environmental regulations and analyze the impact of the regulations on the NETGEAR product portfolio.
Ensure that environmental requirements are implemented in products and product related environmental information is gathered and provided into relevant database.
Enforce compliance with worldwide restricted substance requirements such as RoHS 2, REACH, China RoHS, etc. and Conflict Minerals rule and perform supplier audits to ensure requirements are complied with and followed.
Manage and reduce NETGEAR’s environmental compliance risks and take necessary corrective actions when non-compliance issues identified.
Train and promote awareness of environmental requirements by working with NETGEAR and supplier staff.
Manage WEEE, Packaging and Battery data reporting and registration obligations with compliance schemes and regulatory authorities in EU and other applicable regions.
Assist customer facing teams in responding to customer or 3rd party regulatory authorities’ queries regarding environmental compliance of NETGEAR products.
Support management of environmental requirements during the product development process for NETGEAR products.
Gather sustainability data from NETGEAR facilities and key suppliers in order to respond to CDP and customer specific environmental surveys and generate sustainability report.
A minimum of 6 years of relevant job experience working with product environmental compliance function of consumer electronic company.
Ability to deliver environmental compliance and awareness training.
Knowledge of C2P service for product compliance monitoring is a plus
Expert knowledge in worldwide environmental regulations and standards, primarily but not limited to RoHS, REACH, California Proposition 65, WEEE and Conflict Minerals rule.
Must have exceptional skill at organizing tasks and efficiently managing time.
Excellent written and verbal English & Chinese language skills.
Ability to develop key requirements / plans, communicate them and drive execution to those plans across internal teams, suppliers and service providers.
Ability to react quickly and adapt to changes in priorities, exercise judgment, and meet schedules with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of product configuration management practices (BOMs, specifications, ECR / ECO / MCO, part numbers, rules of interchangeability).
BS / MS in order of preference : 1) Chemical Engineering 2) Material Science 3) Environmental Science 4) Chemistry 5) Other Engineering or equivalent degree
International travel up to 10% of annual working days might be required.
This is an exempt position, reporting to the Manager of Environmental Compliance in San Jose, CA, USA. Work location is Taipei, Taiwan.
