The candidate will work with the APAC legal team in overseeing the general operation (including sales, marketing, HR) of the company in the APAC region, implementing compliance program and may also need to provide training on various corporate and labor topics.
The candidate will report to APAC legal director.
Technical requirements :
Verbal and written fluency in Chinese / Mandarin and English for negotiations, document review, research and drafting.
Knowledge in dealing labor dispute, employment issues and investigation a must.
Knowledge of data protection and privacy a strong advantage.
Knowledge of the AI, big data, cloud or other value-added telecom business a strong advantage.
Knowledge of copyright, trademark and domain name a strong advantage.
Knowledge of FCPA and anti-corruption laws and some experience in handling due diligence and potential compliance issues a strong advantage.
Experience in handling litigations and arbitration a strong advantage
Non-technical requirements :
Self-educate and effectively update the legal team on an ongoing basis on relevant laws and regulations and address legal and regulatory issues relevant to operating NV’s APAC’s business.
Has good presentation skills to engage in discussions with business executives.
Appetite to make risk-benefit analysis judgments and recommendations.
Highest ethics and integrity. Willing to publicly resist inappropriate internal and external business influence.
Resourceful and self-reliant, especially in terms of word processing and document generation and distribution.
Stability and strong interpersonal (EQ) skills.
Experience and Education
A law degree from Taiwan law school, LLM / JD preferred but not required
Be qualified to practice law in Taiwan and / or United States.
7+ years' legal experience from either international law firms, reputable Taiwan law firms or MNCs.
